Private taxi, car and day trips from Tangier
Private taxi: drivers and riads in Chefchaouen offer the return trip, at prices that vary widely. Agree the fare, and how long the driver waits at Akchour, before you set off.
Coming back: shared taxis to Chefchaouen wait near the restaurants, at the same price per seat. They get harder to find late in the day, so do not leave the return too late.
By car: the road is paved all the way to the main car park, which charges a small fee when it is staffed.
From Tangier or Tetouan: the Akchour Waterfalls are about 2–2.5 hours from Tangier by car, via Tetouan. Without a car, travel to Chefchaouen first and take a grand taxi from there, or join a day tour from Tangier that combines Chefchaouen with a short hike at Akchour.
